Jen and I were greeted with hugs and smiles by Reyna’s Mom. Reyna was getting her hair done at the time but she turned and smiled and hugged me. It seems such a small thing but it instantly set the tone for Jen and I and if we were hired help or part of the day. We were def. part of the day for this wedding. I loved that I shared tears at the ceremony, watched the sunset create epic magic over the mountains as John and Reyna laughed and held each other, danced right a long with a few of the bridesmaids and waved goodbye as they were sent off for their honeymoon. While yes, this was a working day, it felt like I was photographing my close friends. I get so involved in the romance, tradition and emotion in a wedding day that its sometimes hard to tell I’m working. I love that! I love that I genuinely like my couples. That I admire who they are and the love they share…that is such a blessing. John and Reyna are a couple that you want to go on camping adventures or meet up for drinks and toast their friendship. Their wedding at the Boettcher Mansion was filled with so many sweet handmade details. John’s Mom was amazing and helped personalize so much of the wedding decor. Not only that, they had friends that helped out with the delicious food and gorgeous dessert display. It was a true act of love getting to see so many people love on John and Reyna. One of my favorite personal moments in the wedding day was when Reyna’s grandma put on the pearls that were a gift to Reyna’s grandma at her wedding. The same pearls were worn on her Mothers Wedding day…and then it was Reyna’s turn. Such a sweet tradition and I loved getting to photograph that. People often ask what is my favorite part of photographing a wedding…and its really all of it. There are so many moments that shape up a wedding day that to break them all apart seems impossible. I absolutely adore this couple and can’t wait to share a few of my favorites. As always, I share more on my facebook page. If you’d like to see them head on over with this link:
I will also list at the end of this post all the many lovely vendors that helped make this day possible for John and Reyna. To the family and friends who were such a huge support for them…know that you impressed me and Jen with your care and love you gave them! Well done. Congrats to Reyna and John…I wish you both the best in your next adventure!Elizabeth Ann Photography | 2nd Photographer Kreatid Photography
