Best of Weddings 2017
What a year 2017 was! Looking back at all these beautiful weddings and seeing so many sweet clients that have become friends…it leaves me feeling completely grateful that I get to do this. That I can see photograph a moment and make it something tangible for my clients to have for years…that they will show their kids their wedding photos some day….what a gift for me to know that. I think that is one of the biggest reasons in having a wedding photographer you can trust on your wedding day. I hear so many stories of people saying they wish they would have gone with a professional. And I get it, I truly do, your friend has an awesome camera so they must take awesome photos. That is like looking at a basic paint brush and expecting to be Monet at the first brushstroke. Lol I guess to me, a wedding is more than just taking photos. Its grabbing the heart and soul of your day, photographing it artistically, and helping you remember the beautiful emotion that was shared with family and friends. AND if you know me…you know I’m an absolute geek about light. A lot of times you’ll see images where my clients are laughing at epic times in the sunset because of me freaking out about that beautiful light. This is part of my style that I know many hire me for…I shoot for all that beautiful light I can get. That being said, I had a few weddings where it was an EPIC, I mean epic show of Colorado Thunderstorms and heavy rain. I can’t remember a time I was ever that cold as when I photographed a whole ceremony in pouring down rain. It was so sweet of one of the guests to follow around me and Jen with their umbrella so we could keep on shooting.
My recap of 2017…there were SO many photos to choose through. And I ended up choosing a few moments from each wedding that I loved or some of the pretty details my clients chose to use for their day. Each wedding I’ve photographed there were so many incredible vendors behind the scenes working hard to make the day go smoothly for my couples and even for me and my 2nd. Weddings take a community of friends and professionals to help run well and I’m so thankful to have met so many talented people in Colorado. If you are ever on the hunt for some serious talent on florists, wedding planners, makeup artists, hair stylists, cake designers, DJ’s, venues,…well, and I would say photographers but you should stop looking when you get to me on that. Haha…okay I’m kidding. But I’d love to help out.
To my clients of 2017, you guys were so incredibly encouraging. The amount of times you had me laughing with tears streaming down my face are too many to count. The way you had me all emotional at first dances, toasts, and sharing your vows…I feel incredibly blessed that you chose me to capture those moments. And I’ve grown so much from seeing how you love and give to your family and new spouse.
Thank you to my two amazing 2nds that I use for weddings. One, my sister Jen from Arizona who fly’s in to shoot with me. We have a book of stories that is still growing and that one day we might share of our epic wedding adventures…lets just say it will have you rolling on the floor laughing at some things that you just can’t make up they are that crazy. I love you Jen! Thank you for your incredible talent and awesome friendship. To my girl, Chelsea. You are so incredibly hard working and are the first person to offer me help on whatever I need. I love that you take random photos of me and I look through your images and I laugh when I see myself mixed in there as I’m culling a wedding. You have such a giving nature and I’m thankful for you!
To my future clients of 2018…I’m excited! I can’t wait to see where your day takes me. Thank you for trusting me with your beautiful day!
