Mile High Station | A Denver City Wedding
Wow, this Denver City wedding was one filled with such sweet emotion from start to finish. I pulled into Caroline’s parents beautiful home. The girls were all ready well on their way with hair and makeup. The music was softly playing in the back ground and the anticipation for the day was bringing such a fun energy. I was immediately in love with all the gorgeous natural light that I was able to utilize for getting ready portraits. I loved that they gave us full reign to go where ever we thought best. They had such gorgeous architecture through out. There were so many favorite moments on this wedding. What I loved about Caroline and Neil was just how close they were with their family. Having Caroline’s mom help her get into her dress and seeing all the emotions race through her expression…gosh it makes me excited for that someday moment with my own daughter. When Caroline’s dad saw her for the first time…it literally took his breath away. Pretty sure there was not a dry eye anywhere near them. The same could be said with Neil and his parents. These two are so well loved and I loved that their parents and siblings played such a strong role on their wedding day.
After photographing the ladies we went to The Union Station. If you’ve never been, its an absolute must see in Denver. So much beautiful detailing all through out. We were given permission to photograph up at Cooper Lounge inside of the Union Station. It was the perfect urban, classy, city vibe for a first look for Caroline and Neil. I loved watching Caroline walk up to Neil and could see all the love she had for him, that beautiful wedding day, and the start of their future. I often get a front row seat to some of the happiest moments in peoples lives and its such an honor for me to give it back to them in something tangible. These are the I can’t believe I get to kind of moments in my job.
We then hit the streets with the most fun, laid back and energetic wedding party! We stopped traffic…sorry Denver, but it was worth it. I’m often photographing couples in the Colorado mountains for weddings but I absolutely adore city weddings. Its a whole energy and vibe that I love.
Caroline and Neil shared their vows at St. Elizabeth of Hungary where they live streamed for family members that couldn’t make it. I have to say that one thing this pandemic made beautiful was the extra connections that friends and family made so they could experience the wedding as well. Finding ways to make everyone involved was special. The ceremony was so gorgeous too! I know I keep talking about all the gorgeous architecture but this was a day where every piece had such a story. I loved the stain glass windows, the tall vaulted ceilings…such a dramatic ceremony spot!
SO much to unpack from this Denver City Wedding as the rest of the night was spent at the Mile high station. You guys, they had a live band called Funkiphino and they are spectacular. From Jazzy blues, to current hits…they kept everyone dancing all night long. I loved the way Mile high Station has places that you can photograph down on the dance floor. Its often hard to navigate large dancing crowds. This reception from start to finish was incredible. From the incredible details on the table scapes, the extra lighting that was added all through out , the beautiful florals that created such drama…ahh, I just want to go back and photograph it again. It was an amazing day!
Caroline and Neil, you two are an inspiration. Love how you guys live and love on your friends and family. Also, your sweet puppy…the cutest! Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness!
To my girl Kate, thank you so much for your help and talents shared on this wedding. You always keep me laughing.
