Monica and Adam | Farish Recreation Center Wedding | Woodland Park Wedding
I just got back from photographing my family’s first wedding. I have two older sisters and a brother and we alllllll have kids. My nephew was the first on our side to get married. It was interesting how my perspective shifted on weddings. Yes, I’m a wedding photographer and I absolutely LOVE what I do. But my mind shifted to the perspective of being a family member at a wedding while also being a photographer. I’m not sure if I’m making sense but weddings are absolutely incredible to be part of. Getting to see first hand all the many hands and talents that are behind the scene on a wedding day that are family was truly special. While going through the photos for Monica and Adam’s beautiful Micro Wedding up at Farish Recreation Center in Woodland Park, I’m reminded of just how special their family is as well. You can see it in the way Monica’s Dad held her during the first dance. Or the way her sister’s helped her during getting ready moments. Or in the way Adam’s Mom held her sons face after pinning the boutonniere. Also, the many hands that helped the day before in setting up market lights to create a beautiful spot for toasts, dancing and delicious food. Family and friends…gosh, they play such a beautiful roll in the celebrations for couples. I have a new appreciation going into 2022.
So moving back into Monica and Adam’s Micro Wedding. What is a Micro wedding you ask? Its a smaller guest list, often a destination wedding with a larger reception to follow in their hometown. But the wedding day itself has all the same elements that a larger guest list would have. But much more intimate. Monica and Adam chose Farish Recreation Center that is located in Woodland Park. They all had cabins to stay for the weekend there and it made for a weeklong celebration for them. I loved that they got married on the hill overlooking all the gorgeous trees and Colorado mountains. Right next to the picnic area was a beautiful lake that Adam and Monica had rented a canoe for some photos later on. YOU GUYS…everyone should take canoe breaks on wedding days. Win win on the phots and fun laid back vibe every time.
Monica and Adam’s beautiful vows were so sweet to watch. You can see their complete happiness in each other. I also loved how they involved their parents and had a special moment where they prayed over them.
I think one of my favorite moments on Monica and Adam’s Micro Wedding was during the toasts. Each one had something so sweet, funny and special to say. I loved watching their friends laugh or her parents tear up. Its really in those moments that I feel incredibly honored to see first hand just how loved my couples are.
Monica and Adam, you guys are both so kind and fun to be around! Thank you for having me be part of your incredible wedding! Wishing you both the best in all your adventures in life.
