Cherokee Ranch and Castle | Colorado Wedding | Karly and James

This wedding reminded of the old hollywood glamour days. Karly with her beautiful hair and elegant makeup. James in his tux. The reception with its soft green and gold accents. What a stunning day to photograph. Not only that but as you drive in to the Cherokee Ranch and Castle it leaves your jaw on the floor. You just don’t see a castle everyday…at least not in Colorado. One of my favorite things about this wedding venue is that while I’m taking portraits with Karly and James the guests are given a tour and kids are given a scavenger hunt to find through out the castle. Such a fun experience for guests!

So many moments through out this day that made me smile and laugh right along with the guests. I think what surprised me were the vows and the toasts. I love how personal they were. I kind of thought of James as quiet spoken. And while that is true to a certain extent I loved the way he made Karly laugh during the wedding ceremony. I may not remember exactly what he said but I absolutely remember the way he made her smile. I find that kind of fascinating. People will always remember how you made them feel. Also, his friends…those toasts. Roasts…gosh I had tears in my eyes from the life experiences the shared.

While we might not have gotten sunshine…what we did get was a gorgeous ceremony outdoors and managed to dodge a pretty big storm. Something about Karly…she makes everyone feel like the most important person in the room. When she greeted me she wrapped me in the biggest hug and told me she was so thankful I was there. Karly really brought the sunshine. From seeing all the comments on their wedding and from listening to the toasts from her friends…they all said the same.

Karly and James, you were both so amazing to work with. I loved how kind and generous you guys were with everyone around you. Your wedding at Cherokee Ranch and Castle was so incredible to be part of! Thank you so much for having me and Heather!
