Jason and Victoria | Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort and Spa | Colorado Destination Wedding Photographer

April 1, 2014

This day was unique for me.  And oh so special.  Jason had contacted me a few months ago to photograph his surprise roof top proposal for December 31st, 2013 to Victoria.  So romantic and thoughtful…and also a first for me.  To be part of the beginning of someones relationship like that…to photograph those memories…ahh, so sweet for me.  When they asked me to photograph their vows…I was SO excited.   There is something so amazing about an elopement.  This one had all the traditional pieces…they made the day special but it was stripped down to two people in the mountains expressing their personal vows to each other.  No other audience but me photographing them share why they are committed to each other, why they love the other, and how they will spend the rest of their life taking care of each other.   Beautiful.  I can’t say it enough, it was a beautiful way to exchange vows.

And I have to say the details of this sweet wedding were amazing!  Jason and Victoria love Cross fit!  So he ordered custom made shoes for her that say Just married!  How cute is that?!  The cake, oh so special as well.  They flew it in from New York.  The reason, their first “fancy ass date” (their words haha) involved getting dressed up ready to go to a unique restaurant only to find it had been closed down.  Disappointed they went across the street to find the most amazing restaurant where they always flew in Carnegie Deli Cheesecake.  So for their first cake together as Mr. and Mrs.,  Jason flew in Carnegie cheesecake.  SO cool to have a story like that.  And one that made me laugh…who doesn’t label their first dates?

The flowers were an amazing choice as well…both of them love to cook together so they wanted to have herbs mixed in as well.  Every detailed choice in this wedding was about the two of them…their interests, their loves and hobbies they do together.  This will always be a special wedding for me.  Thank you so much Jason and Victoria for choosing me to photograph such a beautiful day!  Congrats again and I simply wish you the best in life!!
