Colorado Engagement | Denver Wedding Photographer
So Nikki and I had been emailing back and forth and had rescheduled their shoot a few times to try and get snow for their session. We finally had the opportunity …and it was the craziest storm of the season yet on the day of their shoot. Haha…WHAT an adventure. So we pushed up the shoot a few hours to hopefully balance out the road situation and changed the location to this gorgeous forest at Fox Run.
I arrived early and went to go check out where I wanted to shoot their Colorado Engagement in the forest. I’m standing there…the wind is blowing so wild but there was not another soul in sight. The snow was everywhere and it was pure magic. Like I stepped in the set of Narnia for a moment. It was just so peaceful and at the same time wild if that makes sense. Nikki and Alec arrived soon after and they let out their fur baby Gretta…and I was smitten on the spot! Seriously…that soft grey and white fur and her playfulness in the snow. I had a hard time not photographing her the whole time haha.
This shoot told me a lot about Nikki and Alec though. They love adventure…clearly you have to be to shoot in a snow storm. Not only that but they LOVE Gretta and were such animal lovers. I love dog people so right off the bat I knew we were going to connect easily. And I adored the way Alec was so affectionate and helpful with Nikki. They way they laughed through the session….all the feels. This will easily be one of my favorite Colorado Engagement Sessions. So what if my fingers were numb after the shoot. YES…my fingers would not move after 25 minutes in that storm…but it was SO worth it.
Can not wait to share a few of my favorites from their snowy session! If you’d like to follow me on facebook click on my name here to connect with me:
