The Rose | Golden Colorado | Debbie and Jake
So much to love about this beautiful wedding in Golden, Colorado. I met Debbie a few years ago at my old crossfit gym and we bonded over our wild selection of gym outfits….and our misery together in our workouts. Debbie has a smile that instantly makes you want to smile back. I loved getting to see her with her family. The way they loved, teased and were so obviously happy for her reminded me of my family and the bond we all share. Her Dad married Jake and Debbie and I loved that connection they had.
The Rose is a beautiful venue in downtown Colorado. It reminds me of an old Chicago style building with its beautiful brick and industrial vibe. They have done such a great job at creating a beautiful bridal suite with touches of glamor in the chandeliers and mirrors everywhere. My favorite spot in this venue is where we took portraits for Jake and Debbie. Gorgeous mirrored brick in gold and reflections all through out the space made for some creative spots for their portraits. I absolutely loved the way the natural light filtered all through out this part of the venue.
Their ceremony was unique in that the guests sat at their reception tables but it was flipped so that their arch was at the center. For their reception they had fun Marquee letters as their backdrop. This couple brought the beautiful and elegant urban vibe to their wedding and I loved it! When Debbie walked down the center of the aisle towards Jake I LOVED their reactions to each other. Its often a quiet simple moment but its one where you can see so much depth in that look. These two shared an easy, fun, sometimes sarcastic friendship and love for the other. Taking their portraits had me laughing when I would make them gaze at the other. They could hold it for a few seconds before laughing. Which to be honest how often do you gaze at your spouse. I recommend trying it just for their reaction. 😉
The reception was so much fun! The toasts are easily some of my favorite moments during a wedding day because you get a front row seat to some serious roasting. Debbies sister and Jakes brother had everyone laughing and cheering for Jake and Debbie and I couldn’t have been happier for them. Dancing into the night and just easy celebration with their friends and family…what a beautiful wedding to have been part of! Debbie and Jake, absolutely LOVED being part of your day! Wishing the two of you best in your new marriage!
