Jessa and Rick | Vail Wedding | Sonnenalp | Denver Wedding Photographer

August 13, 2015

What an absolutely beautiful wedding to photograph.  I met Jessa and Rick over a year ago…I remember meeting them in a coffee shop.  Talking about Vail, the beautiful chapel across the street from the Sonnenalp, taking a gondola up to the top of a Ski/snowboarding mountain in Vail, families coming from all over the country and out of the country…it was a day spent dreaming about their beginning.   And I was hooked…haha…right from the minute I met them…I knew I wanted to photograph their wedding.  I just liked the way they were together.  I meet a ton of people in my business and I get to see how unique each couple relates to each other.  Opposites but not.  Similar but not.  Haha..its a beautiful relationship when you can see strengths and balance in each person.  And that is what I loved about Jessa and Rick.  Fast forward to their wedding day.  I think, for me, one of my favorite moments of the day was watching Jessa and her Mom as she was getting her dress on.  The light was spilling through the french doors behind them…you could tell how incredibly happy Jessa’s Mom was.  How content Jessa was…kind of the calm before the intense flow of a day.  And it was beautiful.

Jessa and Rick were married in a little chapel with large vaulted ceilings, gorgeous windows and classic pews.  Stunning, quaint and simple…it set the perfect tone for two people sharing their vows with their loved ones.  And I could not be happier for them.  Watching their friends and family cheer them on…ahhh, I know they have an amazing support for their sweet marriage.

If you know me…you know I love details..seriously…its kind of my thing for weddings.  I love seeing what interests each bride.  And I loved the personal invite that Jessa personally wrote out…ummmmm, AMAZING handwriting.  Not only that her friend helped with table set ups, cards, and personal boards set up through out the wedding and reception.  Beautiful prints with even more gorgeous handwriting.  Beautiful.   Jessa chose a beautiful dress from Emma and Grace Bridal that Jen and I were simply in awe of.  It fit Jessa perfectly…blowing in the wind at the top of Vail…seriously, she took my breath away.   Which brings me to our ride up to the top of Vail mountains…ummmm, I know we live in a cool state but seriously, this one takes the cake as far as mega epic mountain views.  360 degrees of gorgeous Colorado on full display…add in Jessa and Rick, their sweet happiness and their family and friends and lets just say I was in photographer heaven.

You know, I just want to say, it was such an honor for me to be part of this day.  Photographing this couple made me happy…showed me how much I love getting to photograph weddings.  Not only that, I get to do this about 95% of the time with my sister Jen…and that is so crazy special to me.  So thank you Jessa and Rick!  LOVED getting to photograph your gorgeous wedding day and I simply wish you both the best in life!
